Nellie’s was written in honor of Nellie Cornish, founder of Cornish College of the Arts, and was composed in her old room in Kerry Hall which overlooks the Space Needle. Nellie founded the school in 1914, starting with the music department, and if it weren’t for her, Dylan wouldn’t have moved to Seattle and met a majority of the musicians on this record.
